PSP shifts more than both home consoles – but consumers still snap up nine million PS3s in fiscal year
Global PS2 sales may have declined by over a million units in Sony's last fiscal year, but the console was still the firm's leading light in the 12 month period – selling over four million units more than successor PS3.
Handheld PSP outsold the pair, clocking up 13.9 million sales worldwide.
The breakdown of the company’s hardware sales for the year ending March 31st, 2008 reads:
PSP – 13.9 million – UP 46 per cent
PS2 – 13.73 million – DOWN seven per cent
PS3 – 9.24 million – UP 156 per cent
Global software sales (in units) for each format in the 12 months were:
PSP – 55 million – UP one per cent
PS2 – 154 million – DOWN 20 per cent
PS3 – 57.9 million – UP 335 per cent

PS2
it's good to see the PS2 selling so well, it means more great games for the upcoming year !
Re: PS2
Hmm.. I think you'll find it means more bilge for PS2 actually. There are one or two big titles clinging on in there to come out this year, but in the most part you can expect to see alot of budget shovelware and bad quality movie tie-ins. Software sales are slumping badly on PS2
