October 25th kick-off date for wide-reaching ‘cultural celebration’
After a successful second outing last year, the London Games Festival is to return for a third stint later this year, it has been confirmed.
Starting on October 25th, the ‘cultural celebration of everything gaming’ will target a wide demographic, ranging from hardcore gamers to the growing casual audience.
“Last year’s London Games Festival was a huge success and we were thrilled with the feedback from many of those who attended and the publishers who took part,” LGF chairman Keith Ramsdale stated.
“The Trafalgar Square event looked fantastic and it was great to see so many families come down and enjoy it. We’ve got plenty in store for 2008 and a whole host of major partners lined up with full support from the industry. We’re really looking forward to bringing the gaming industry to life in the capital again.”
LGF clams that 100,000 people in total attended last year’s selection of over 50 events, which included the likes of the Royal Philharmonia Orchestra performing gaming music at the Festival Hall and an EA-based extravaganza at Trafalgar Square.
