UK CHART: GTA beats out Rock Band, Haze

Rockstar has made it a fourth week at number one in the ELSPA/ChartTrack All Formats chart – beating major new releases from Ubisoft, Eidos and EA.

EA’s Rock Band hits sixth position in the chart, but it’s not likely the publisher will be disappointed; according to ChartTrack, three quarters of all people who purchased the 49.99 solus Rock Band disc also bought the full 129.99 instrument pack.

Performance of the week comes from Eidos, with MMORPG Age Of Conan: Hyborian Adventures hitting second spot – despite only being released on a single format.

The game easily becomes the biggest PC release of the year so far – and the most successful ever online-only title outside the World Of Warcraft franchise.

Ubisoft’s PS3 exclusive Haze debuts in No.3. It has been a less enjoyable week for Nintendo, with Wii Fit – amazingly – dropping from second spot last week all the way out of the top 40.

Mario Kart Wii dips from second to eighth as Wii Play remains in fifth.

The full top ten reads:

1) GTA IV – Rockstar
2) Age Of Conan: Hyborian Adventures – Eidos
3) Haze – Ubisoft
4) Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games – Sega
5) Wii Play – Nintendo
6) Rock Band – EA
