PS3 BioShock confirmed for October

Irrational’s underwater FPS thriller to make the move to Sony’s console in just five months

Only days after the news that one of Xbox 360’s hottest IPs is to make the move to PS3, publisher 2K Games has confirmed that the PS3 incarnation of BioShock will arrive on Ps3 this October.

It has also been revealed that the game will come complete with all the downloadable extras and gameplay tweaks that have been offered vis Xbox Live since the game’s release last year.

The publisher also says that the PS3 version will boast ‘new features’, though the details of these are yet to be confirmed.

This is great news - I've been wanting to play this for ages! Fingers for a budget price point... (yeah right!)

I bet you have Juggernaut on when you play COD4!

Who really cares as long as people are happy and everyone makes some cash?!

MCV can you please add an age ban on under 18 posting?! LOL

:( Great news. I'll be sad though if they start marketing officially as "get BioShock, with ALL of the extras available from xbox LIVE" simply because I have the extras and a few (literally) extra plasmids isn't really a selling point.

Great game though, and if it is just a way for 2k to test the water with the ps3 then all the better. More console games equals more money equals bigger and better games from a talented team.

@2: you damn fanboys give the rest of us 360 owners a bad name. I'm a gamer, i have a 360 because i made a choice, im very happy with my choice ... it doesn't mean i have to hate the ps3!

I'd have an x360 by now if it wasn't for the very high kicker that is "GT5"... I'll gladly wait before getting to play GTA IV until the PS3 comes down a bit in price, then I'll be rinsing it!

For the record I love elements of every console, but not rich enough to own every one myself. As for BioShock, I know nothing of this game, better take a look :)

PS Who?

And so another well established franchise limbers up at the starting blocks of SCEE.

Let's hope that the Sony network can fix up for this latest FPS endeavour. After all let's not forget the persistent problems that plague Sony's online offering.. RSVII, GTp, GTA, HAZE... isn't it about time Sony took some responsibility for this fundamental flaw in their product, rather than hanging publishers out to dry?

Bioshock on the PS3; sink or swim is the name of the game, in more ways than one..

All Ps3'ers need now is Mass effect . . . . . . Xbox 360 owner meself but glad to see that the PS3 is finally gaining momentum . . . . All competition is good! Once the price goe down below 250 for a bundle, i may even buy one. I just wish they would change their minds about the whole PS2 compatibility, really dont want to have to unplug stuff to play the MGS games sequentially LOL.

@7: Not too sure about Mass Effect, I think the PS3 has plenty of its own original games in its future line up and if it was going to get another port I'd rather see a more polished game make its way over, otherwise it wouldn't be worth it.

I hope this is the start of more of this porting back and forth between the big two of blockbuster games. It would be beneficial to everyone.
