UBIDAYS ‘08: 'Fully' 3D game confirmed

James Cameron tie-up is ‘wonderful’ says CEO; mid-09 release date announced

Ubisoft has confirmed that a fully-3D game based on movie director James Cameron’s 3D movie Avatar is in the works – with a mid-2009 release.

At its Ubidays event in Paris, CEO of Ubisoft Yves Guillemot said the game would be out next year - presumably alongside the cinema release of Cameron's Avatar movie, which is also being produced as 3D experience.

"We have seen it and it is wonderful," said Guillemot of the technology that is presumably being shared across the game and the film.

When I first read that I was wondering if the last 2 generations of console had disappeared. Games have been in 3D for years... Then I caught on.

So are we talking 3D glasses and HD TVs and stuff?
