Family friendly interactive ‘cartoon’ coming in 2009

Capcom has officially unveiled Spyborgs for Wii at its 2008 Captivate event.

Developed by Bionic Games, Spyborgs follows a team of super spies and takes its inspiration from TV cartoons with levels split into episodes, complete with ad breaks.

“Spyborgs coming exclusively for the Nintendo Wii is a departure from the older age demographic you may associate with Capcom, but fits perfectly with our strategy to bring great gaming experiences to all ages,” said Capcom’s marketing director Michael Pattison to MCV.

“Spyborgs’ developer Bionic Games, again based in the US, is a very talented team with experience on titles such as Ratchet and Clank and Resistance: Fall of Man and with this brand new title is creating something very distinctive – essentially a new TV action cartoon show that you can play, complete with interactive ad breaks and the pacing, humour and frantic action you’d expect from a cartoon built around team-play that’s fun for all the family, young and old.”
