Open world platform ‘still on track’ for launch this year
Home, Sony's virtual world on PS3, is still on track for a 2008 release, according to Wired.
However, it's likely that the platform will remain in Beta mode.
PlayStation Network’s Susan Panico noted that the "rollout will be similar to Gmail," describing what will launch this year as an "open, working Beta".
Wired’s journalist jokes in the story: ‘I certainly hope it's not that similar to Gmail, or it'll never get out of Beta.’

I'd agree with Senor360 that it'll prob be fully working by the ps4 which is great but Sony could use it this generation to help tip the balance more in their favor. I like Live cus its simple and does its job but as much as i love my xbox i still really want to see Home work, its good to see companies taking big risks.
