New GTA IV episodes delayed

Downloadable content won’t reach 360 until FY 2009

In its Q2 fiscal report, Take Two has revealed that the release of episodic content for GTA IV on the Xbox 360 will be delayed to Q1 2009.

The additional episodes were due to be released over Xbox Live in Q4 this year. Take Two's FY 2008 ends in November.

The publisher did not give any pricing information about the new content.

In a conference call to investors, CEO Ben Feder said:

"It’s the same team developing it and the same studio that is developing it, but again the delay is not about development issues. The delay is about portfolio balancing issues."

The T2 financial year starts on November 1st. So the content may well come out in 2008, as the quarter runs from start of November to end of January. In fact it's more likely to come out in November or December to help give GTA a big sales boost/incentive at Christmas. They'll probably even cut the price of the game to encourage more people to play/buy it; i.e. 'More GTA for your money' etc.

But the story above says Q1 2009...

Hi.

Yep, fiscal Q1, 2009. Could theoretically be released around Christmas. Have tweaked the wording to make that clearer to other readers.
