Executive chairman admits Guitar Hero-style title is a ‘possibility’

Take Two executive chairman Strauss Zelnick has refused to rule out the creation of a Guitar Hero-style title from the US publisher.

Speaking in an earnings call following Take Two’s successful Q2 fiscal results, executive chairman Strauss Zelnick was asked if Take Two would add a rhythm action title to its portfolio.

He replied:

“Possibly. You know, there’s nothing that we’ve disclosed on the release schedule right now. I think that’s a long conversation and not a short one in terms of where the business is going.

“You know, is it a music genre, is it a rhythm genre - it also remains to be seen how that genre holds up over time and that’s terribly important when you invest in triple-A properties that you expect people to play for upwards of 20 hours.

“So probably a better conversation to have over a cup of coffee, but the answer is the release schedule doesn’t include any rhythm titles right now.”
