Guitar Hero off to Isle Of Wight

GHIII to star at popular music festival; New track pack announced

Fans of Guitar Hero III that attend this year’s Isle Of Wight festival will get the opportunity to play the game on the same stage that stars perform on.

All attendees will have the chance to have a go on the game, with the finest ‘rock gods’ having their fret-slashing video screened onto big screens throughout the festival grounds.

The very best of these will then be invited onto the stage – which will also play host to The Sex Pistols, The Kaiser Chiefs and The Police – to play in front of thousands of revellers.

Publisher Activision will also debut a three-song downloadable track pack for Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock at the festival, featuring past and present headliners.

The three songs are Kasabian’s Shoot the Runner, the Kaiser Chiefs’ I Predict a Riot and a live rendition of The Sex Pistols’ “Problems.”

The track pack will be available from  June 12th on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

“We’re delighted to have Guitar Hero at the festival. A few years ago, this sort of activity would have seemed out of place,” said Isle of Wight festival organiser John Giddings.

“Guitar Hero has shown that video games are for more than just the hardcore gamers. The game provides so much entertainment, we’re bringing it into as many aspects of the festival as possible. The main stage event is going to be truly spectacular.”

This is why Guitar hero is a storming success 9 months after release! Not because of the isle of wight showcase but because of the amazing downloads!
