With the next COD heading back to WWII, rumours point to future setting for 2009’s instalment
Some gamers were surprised to learn recently that this year’s Call of War title (dubbed World at War) will be heading back to WWII – but internet rumours are suggesting an even more radical departure for the next title.
A piece on TalkPlaystation.com (which has since been removed – read into that what you will) claims that an ‘Infinity Ward insider’ has hinted that following this year’s release, next year’s title could be set in the future.
The site quotes the source as saying: “We are currently working on a new sci-fi title, we cannot release any more information as of yet, we may or may not announce it at E3."
Treyarch is currently hard at work on World at War, with Infinity Ward, the developers responsible for the fantastically successful Call of duty 4: Modern Warfare, currently building next year’s release for the franchise.
Thanks, CVG.

no its not
its already stated that Iw is working on another title that is not COD and the other title is a sci-fi game
Doubtful
While its fun to speculate lets be honest, the WW2 era has been milked dry and even now they are going back to it. They've only had one outing with the "modern" era, i doubt they'll move on until they've explored every facet of it.
Its about pacing themselves, they could go sci fi but where do you go next? it makes more sense to stay where they are and then change it up when the game starts to stagnate.
Re: Doubtful
just so youlot no COD 4 was set in 2011 so the next COD installemnt that goes forward in time from COD4 is most likly to be set in something like 2033
