New Wiimote rival announced

In2Games' Gametrak Freedom likely to arrive on PS3 and 360 this year

Microsoft and Sony’s desire to make Xbox 360 and PS3 more family-friendly may have been given a boost with the announcement of a new motion-sensing controller from In2Games.

The company claims that its Gametrak Freedom device is ‘the most advanced’ motion-sensing controller yet.

The name of the first title in development for the tech is Squeeballs, which will be released ‘soon’, according to In2Games.

I admire the in2Games guys greatly and their Gametrak product was probably ahead of its time when it first came out. The new motion sensing PS2 titles which launched before xmas were interesting but fell victim of the waning PS2 sales.

I really hope they crack it this time round. Hopefully retail will get behind it despite the disappointing PS2 launch last year. The key is going to be getting 1st and 3rd party support for the product with a good range of supported product.
