Diablo 3 announcement is the odds-on bet as WoW dev readies big news for Worldwide Invitational
An evolving splash page on the Blizzard website has got the virtual tongues of internet gamers wagging ahead of the firm’s Worldwide Invitational this Saturday – with most speculators hedging bets on a Diablo-related announcement.
The image of breaking ice, which has been gradually evolving each day, contains a number of clues as to what the World of Warcraft developer has in store. All of which is being documented in worrying detail by fan site WoW Insider.
Other possibilities include a release date for WoW expansion Wrath of the Lich King, whilst an outside bet could be an online console outing for the firm. World of Warcraft on Xbox 360 and PS3, perhaps?

Blizzard's suprise
If it is Diablo 3 then I will be a VERY happy bunny, if it's going to end up a solely MMO type game then I will be a particularly sick one!

Bring on Diablo 3 ... would be funny though if it was just blizzard doing what apple did a while back and their big announcement is ... we are changing our logo a bit and we are now Blizzard Inc instead of Entertainment.

I really hope they don't go down the Hellgate route if they do release a Diablo 3.
I'd like to see them running it in a nice 3D engine but retain the Diablo style viewpoint. That way, we get all the nice animation, lighting etc... but we get the Diablo feel.
