Blizzard’s long-awaited PC sequel unveiled at Paris Invitational
Blizzard has confirmed that a third instalment in the revered Diablo III franchise is on its way to PC and Mac.
The company announced the news at its Paris Invitational event on Friday, showing off a trailer and 20 minutes of gameplay footage.
According to Next-Gen.biz, Diablo III's storyline takes place 20 years after the events of Diablo II. The company release reads:
"Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal have been defeated, but the Worldstone, which once shielded the world of Sanctuary from the forces of both the High Heavens and the Burning Hells, has been destroyed, and evil once again stirs in Tristram...."
There are also 60 screenshots and pieces of concept art available for viewing at the official Diablo III website.
The 3D graphics engine is new, and physics are powered by Havok, but no release date has been set.

Diablo III confirmed
It had better not be anything like Hellgate London, that really would disapointing. If it is better I hope Blizzard rubs Diablo 3 in Flagships faces that would show 'em!
Re: Diablo III confirmed
Magnus, have you watched the gameplay trailer? it is 20 minutes of the new classes and it look like Diablo2 in 3D!! (still isometric view though :)
I think we will be safe :)
Re: Re: Diablo III confirmed
Sounds cool! Hopfully anybody playing the campaign mode won't be missing out on anything good, it wouldn't much fun though if Blizzard use a truncated campaign mode as an encouragement to join the multiplayer though, that would be way too much like Hellgate London!
