This could be a huge turning point in games. I'm all for in-game ads as from what i've seen my preconceptions of them were very wrong. The reality is they are seamlessly fitted into games and rarely intrude on the gamers experience, as any game that does won't get played much.
The reason this could be massive is that think of all the money that would be pumped into the industry, the government aren't too keen on backing it but the movie business, the music industry, retailers, brands etc they have infinitely more money than the government to throw around and it would be more than welcome.
It would also help change some preconceptions about games in general as those ill-informed gullable mugs who believe gaming is bad would be easily swayed if the game had a respected brand name assocaited with it imo.

I prefered it when they used to make brands up. Dorty Burgers was my favourite. A Geordie developer havin a laugh I believe
As for real adverts, when will these guys leave us be? Every spare inch of space is now used to sell us stuff we don't want or need.
