WALL-E the first Arabic localised game

THQ’s film tie in becomes the world first video game to be localised for the Middle East

WALL.E, THQ’s summer release based on the Disney Pixar movie, is to be the first video game to be localised in Arabic, set for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PSP.

The Pluto Games-developed title will be released into the emerging Middle East market this year.

Luke Keighran, THQ export sales manager, said: “We are delighted to be part of this, launching an Arabic game is every Arab gamers’ wish. This is a great opportunity for us to grow further in promising territories like Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and a solid demonstration of our commitment to the Middle East market.

“It is Pluto Games’ enthusiasm and will that made this commercially possible and we hope it will be the first of a long line up for Arabic titles in the future.”

He continued: “There are only few games that would suit the Middle East’s morals more than WALL.E. The game depicts family virtues in a fun adventurous story line immersing the players in a world of passionate pursuit for adventure.”

The film has gathered a raft of almost universal praise from the media, scoring a huge 93 per cent according to Metacritic.

So, this game came out almost a year ago, made by an American company and localized in Arabic. Try again WALL-E.

Uh, the article... or should I say press release from THQ... is also misleading about the Metacritic score. The *film* may have gotten a 93, actually 94 as I write this ("Universal acclaim"). But the game got a 55 on its highest scoring platform, the Xbox 360 ("Mixed or average reviews.")

Article says, "THQ’s film tie in becomes the world first video game to be localised for the Middle East" First ever game..... don't care what platform it is... article is either wrong or poorly stated
AND... localized is spelled incorrectly

I believe the story is not very accurate as 1- Pluto is the distributor, and 2- the game is FIRST on nxt gen and PSP.
In fact it is not even localized on PC and PS2.

Great!! I'd LOVE to play a game in arabic on my xbox 360
hope the sales be high enough so they would consider doing that for other titles, since as usual games that are made after a movie are usually ... bad!
