Xbox World 360 claims that Infinity Ward is ‘definitely’ working on new sci-fi title, possibly linked to COD franchise
No smoke without fire, or groundless internet chin-wagging? There’s no way to know for sure, but talk has once again erupted concerning Infinity Ward and an upcoming sci-fi FPS.
CVG reports that this month’s edition of the mag claims: "The net is awash with rumour mongering that Infinity Ward are beavering away on a brand new sci-fi shooter. However, we can confirm that it is definitely happening."
The news supposedly comes from a rep at a recent Activision Call of Duty event, though when probed the source reportedly also added: "Will it be Call of Duty 6? No idea.”
At the very least, a recent post on Infinity Ward’s blog did confirm the developer is working on a ‘new project’: "We're excited to be working on our next project, but it's going to be quite a while before I can share any details on exactly what that project is."

hmm
Would be kinda cool if they kept it within the realm of COD but maybe used a different name, such as with the Tom Clancy games (they are all connected but not in the same series).
COD6 in space, while fun and with IW behind it would no doubt rock, would be a little premature. In my opinion there is plenty of untapped magic left in the Moder Warfare era, maybe another 2 iterations before moving onto the next stage.
Re: hmm
are they not meant to be helping or working on an aliens game ? - as well as gearbox ?
Re: Re: hmm
Personally, for me, I would love to see COD 5 with a battlefield style to it. In need of bigger maps, driveable vehicles, tanks and jeeps. Instead of calling in a chopper or an airstrike why not take total control and actually have your team fly them! Im sure in this day and age it should have been done by now. Im also eagerly awaiting for MAG next year, looks awesome!! And as for ALIENS, well, life just get's better and better.
