Microsoft insists that announced price cuts are for US only, though refuses to rule out Euro move
Following the news that Microsoft is to cut the price and phase out its 20GB model and introduce a new 60GB machine in the US, consumer site Spong is speculating that the move will not be mirrored in the UK.
A Microsoft representative told the site: "The 60GB Xbox 360 and the 20GB clearance sale are for the US only. We have not announced any changes in Xbox 360 offerings or pricing in Europe."
The statement is perhaps more conclusive than those which typically emerge from PR departments. It is also worth bearing in mind that Europe has already benefitted from recent price cuts that weren't mirrorored overseas - so perhaps this recent move is simply bringing the US into line with other territories.
However, Microsoft's statement doesn’t completely rule out an upcoming price move on this side of the pond.

I hope they do lower the price, otherwise it really would be a case of forgetting all about the UK market. We pay more than most countries for entertainment goods anyway!
