New feature unveiled at publisher’s E3 press conference; Capcom to increase its presence in movie industry
Having sold over two million units worldwide, Capcom is taking its new IP Lost Planet to the movies.
Screenwriter David Hayter, also known to gamers as the voice of Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid, is penning the movie, which has yet to receive a release date.
Capcom president and chief operating officer Kenzo Tsujimoto also revealed that the Japanese publisher intends to create many more future game-to-film franchises after pioneering the trend with Street Fighter and Resident Evil.
The movie is described as a cautionary tale with an environmental twist, and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros.
