EIF Chairman Chris Deering has unveiled plans to celebrate video game art at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival 2008. The EIF boss has called on game development teams to showcase single frames captured from actual play in their games for the ‘Expo Of Art’.

Any game that has not yet been released, or has been released since January this year is eligible for the expo and a number of the submissions will be selected to be printed as posters at the Conference Centre in Edinburgh.

Submissions for the art showcase can include up to three separate single frames for each game and are required to be at a resolution capable of being blown up to movie poster size. Submissions should also include name of the game, development team, the UK publisher of the game and a description of the level from which the frame was captured.

Deering said he hoped the Art Expo will become a much anticipated feature of EIF in future years.
