Top global games publisher Activision-Blizzard has announced a number of brand new titles that it has in development – with the headliners being a brand new Wolverine title and a next-gen update to Nazi-hating FPS Wolfenstein.
Despite this week’s news that EA has teamed up with id for the publishing rights to its new FPS Rage, Activision is still in cahoots with the Quake and Doom developer for its upcoming next-gen version of its popular Wolfenstein series.
In addition, a brand new Transformers outing, dubbed Revenge of the Fallen, which will tie-in with the new Paramount movie. There was also news of another movie licence – this time for 20th Century Fox’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Activision also confirmed the existence of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion, which is currently in development.
New developments aside, the publisher’s pre-Christmas release lineup includes the likes of Treyarch’s Call of Duty: World at War, the multi-instrument Guitar Hero World Tour, new Bond tie-in Quantum of Solace and free-roaming superhero romp Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.
“Our strong and balanced portfolio illustrates our ongoing commitment to delivering top-quality entertainment experiences to broad global audiences,” Activision president and CEO Mike Griffith stated.
“We are particularly excited about this fall’s Guitar Hero World Tour, which will deliver unprecedented innovation to the rhythm-based genre with new instruments, a significantly expanded song list, and a music creator to share user-generated soundtracks.”
