But it is on the way, SCEE boss David Reeves asserts
Sony’s new PS3 and PSP movie and TV download and rental service was possibly the biggest announcement of the platform holder’s E3 conference, but European console owners will seemingly have to wait until next year to get access to the now-live-in-the-US content delivery system.
David Reeves confirmed the news at SCEE’s Santa Monica gathering last night. He did assert, however, that Sony boss Howard Stringer has committed to launching the service in all territories in the fullness of time.
Sourcing local content and striking deals with content providers across all of Europe’s territories is a very time consuming affair – so be prepared for a wait on this one. Still, at least there won’t be a wait for Home.
There's also the fact, as Reeves pointed out, we have access to the Go! View service in the UK.

I would have thought considering that Sony is in the film business they could at the very least make their own films available to all regions at the start of this.
Nice to see europe getting a good service after its continued loyalty to sony.

STOP IT! Licensing for the US is easy - one territory. Licensing is Europe is a nightmare - different licenses for each country. Stuff distributed by Sony in one country might have been handled by another company in other territories. It's a minefield. Take it easy on them...
