Six titles priced at £19.99 to arrive on August 1st, many more by the end of the year
SCEE boss David Reeves last night confirmed that the European version of the firm’s PS3 budget software range, dubbed the Platinum Range in this territory, will arrive on store shelves on August 1st.
Games will cost just £19.99 (€29.99 in mainland Europe) – significantly less than the £39.99-£49.99 RRP carried by most new PS3 releases.
The first batch of Platinum titles will include first party offerings Resistance: Fall of Man and Ratchet & Clank 3 from Insomniac, Ninja Theory’s Heavenly Sword, Evolution’s Motorstorm and Naughty Dog’s Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
In addition, third party titles Virtua Tennis 3 from Sega and Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed will also join the range. THQ’s WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 will join them in September.
Reeves also stated that a further ten titles will go Platinum by the end of November.
