SCEA CEO Jack Tretton says built-in storage could be ‘the trend moving forward’
With Sony putting plenty of emphasis on its still-blossoming portable machine at this year's E3, Sony’s American CEO has spoke openly for the first time about his ideas for the platform going forwards.
Kotaku reports that speaking to a reporter’s gathering this morning, when asked about the possible introduction of some internal memory in future revisions of the PSP, Tretton stated:
"I think we definitely thought about it. I think that's the trend moving forward."
He also spoke candidly about the firm’s portable disc format: "I think the UMD has struggled, and that's an understatement. That's been a very frustrating thing. I don't think UMD movies were handled very effectively."

At least he came out and said it, but you have got to question Sony's hierarchy as to why they persisted with this format when they were starting to struggle against MP3 players and eventually the I-Pod, Zen etc with their walkman/Discman products.
Re: No **** Sherlock
PSP is dead, why bother wasting more money on this format.
The only thing saving this console at the minute is the UMD sales. I have no idea how he can say they have struggled. If anything he is covering up the fact that the psp game sales are near non-existant.
