Shortly after its confirmed move to Wii, Capcom hints at possible move to Sony’s console
Its popularity on Xbox 360 was great enough to make its recently confirmed move to Wii a reality, but now developer Capcom has hinted that Dead Rising may also be upping sticks and heading over to Sony’s PS3.
Speaking on the US PlayStation blog, Capcom’s John Diamonon responded to a question about his firm’s commitment to Sony’s console and the possibility of a port with the short but possibly telling “you haven’t seen the last of Dead Rising”.
Of course, this might be in reference to the in-the-works sequel, which has already been touted as a multi-format title.
Dead Rising was a huge hit upon its release on Xbox 360 in August 2006, selling over one million copies before the turn of the year. Capcom still officially says that no sequel to the title is currently in production.

To late
Unless it's going to have tons of extra new features that justify the £40 price tag then, like the Wii version, it's not at the top of my list of stock, not when we're selling it for £9.99 on the 360.
Now a sequel is a different matter altogether.
Re: To late
I agree. It's a great game, but its been out for ages! Straight to Platinum would be good! Somehow I doubt that would happen though! Any idea if a second one is coming out? I've not heard anything solid as of yet.
Re: Re: To late
The Wii Version is different from the Xbox Version. In the wii-version there will be max 100 Zombies on the screen on the xbox are much more. But the wii version will have the fantastic re4-like controls, a decent save-system, and a enhanced storyline. It seems that overall the wii version will be much better than the xbox-version, even with less zombies.
Save System
I never understood the fuore over the save system in Dead Rising. Sure, you couldnt save every 5 minutes without running back to the loo, but wheres the challenge in saving all the time? Whats the risk?
Everyone has been spoilt by multiple save slots, back in my day we had no saves! and we had to walk 50 miles barefoot through the snow to each others houses to play multiplayer! psshhhh.
Seconding the cry for a sequel here though. Its starting to really bug me that the only games capcom brings to wii nowadays are ports of games i already own. It is good that theyre getting another innings though - id certainly not want to deny something like okami the extra sales.
Re: Save System
That’s an interesting point, zombie.
I can see why the save system annoyed some people – I’ll admit, I didn’t really get on with it and, for me, it lessened my enjoyment of the game. BUT, you have to understand it as a deliberate design decision. Without it the game would have been wildly different, and arguably not as good.
It’s the same argument that can be applied to the original Resident Evil. Yes, the controls were stifled, but had your character played like Dante out of Devil May Cry then it would have been a completely different game. And a worse one, for sure. The control limitations were just as responsible for the tension as the locations, level designs and jumping spiders.
