Gymnastics expert Alison Carroll to be the new face of Tomb Raider Chronicles

Acrobatics and gymnastics coach Alison Carroll has been chosen as the new Lara Croft, replacing model Karima Adebibe.

Tombraiderchronicles.com reports that the 23-year-old is a BGA accredited Club Coach in Tumbling, Sports Acrobatics, and General Gymnastics, and has a long association with the Bromley Valley Gymnastics Club and the Shirley Gymnastics Club, bringing home first place trophies in regional and national competitions.

Alison has represented performed in annual gymnastic display events at Edinburgh Festival, Inverness Festival, Liverpool British Championships, Cardiff Festival, London Festival, Birmingham Ministrada and Portugal World Ministrada (representing Great Britain).

She replaces former London model Karima Adebibe, and joins an exclusive list of women who have donned hotpants and pistols to promote Lara Croft. Past incumbents of the role include Lucy Clarkson, Jill de Jong, Lara Weller, Nell McAndrew, Rhona Mitra, Ellen Rocche and Vanessa Demouy.

Can someone tell me why this article is wrong?

To me it's all relevant to the build up of the new game

Am I missing something?

@4: It's wrong because that picture is too darned small ;D... how are we gonna set that as our desktop? Come on MCV, 1024x768 at least...

but seriously...

Watched a video clip of an ITN snippet on her, she certainly looks the part and has the added bonus of being able to pull off some fancy moves for the cameras too. I don't know how many of the previous Lara's have had that ability.

She will certainly attract the attention of a large percentage of male gamers, that's for sure...

I am disgusted; this is sexual objectification in it's basest form - totally inappropriate for an MCV article... :-p
