ABCs: 'We're top for unofficial 360 mags' says Imagine

360 and X360 make up almost half of the non-official Xbox sector, says publisher

Today’s ABC circulation figures reveal that X360 is the top-selling unofficial title in the Xbox magazine market, according to a statement from publisher Imagine.

X360’s average sales are 30,203, and alongside fellow Imagine title 360, which ABCed at 13,007, Imagine states that it now owns 49 per cent of the unofficial Xbox 360 magazine market.

“I am thrilled to still be the market leader,” said X360 deputy editor Simon Miller. “It’s a testament to the hard work and talent of the whole team. Looking to the future we’re keen to increase this lead further, especially with the number of exciting games leading up to Christmas and our now solid online presence thanks to X360’s website and podcast.”

Fellow unofficial Xbox 360 magazine 360 Gamer, published by Uncooked Media, posted an average circulation of 16,007 in today’s results.

Future Publishing also posted its ABC results today - take a look here for the full details.

Hmm, surely Future's XBox 360 World (ABC 29,135) is worth more of a mention that 360 Gamer?!

Typical Imagine spin. They have two unofficial (and therefore competing) titles, one of which sells just 1,000 copies more than Future's single unofficial title.

The Official Xbox mag still sells way more than both of their mags put together - and with a far better RSV. It's something of a hollow victory, if that's how they're calling it.

Every August Imagine releases the same statement.

Let's face facts: X360 is (a) not nearly as good as it used to be and (b) looks much more expensive to produce than Xbox World, which is (let's face it) selling at the same level.

Uncooked have done well to get 360 Gamer up to 16k, considering they're quite a small company. Imagine's 360 on 13k though... just close it already, how much money is that losing? Imagine's accounts looked bad enough last year, I wonder what next year's will show.

Lord Monkey - I agree with you that Uncooked have done a great job with the recent ABC posting and they should be proud of the results!. However, to say that Xbox World is selling the same level as X360 is...well.... wrong...it's selling over 1000 copies more is it not?!

Weezer: The official mag may well sell more, but it is a rather poor magazine as far as writing goes. I used to buy it all the time, but after reading so many responses to letters that just seemed to insult any reader with a differing opinion, I decided to stop.

I currently buy XBox 360 world, and 360 Gamer, as they are both very good inde mags, and don't rely on cheap shots at their readership in order to "try to be funny".
