Nintendo: Our E3 was disappointing

Marketing boss Cammie Dunaway addresses fans’ issues with LA expo presentation

Nintendo of America sales and marketing boss Cammie Dunaway has admitted that the firm was ‘disappointed’ with its performance at E3.

Speaking to VGChartz, Dunaway said that she wishes the firm has shown off a new Wario game on stage, as well as other more ‘harcore’ titles.

She said:

“I would say the message is we were disappointed with our performance at E3. There were titles like Wario which we think will be really fun titles that we should have showcased.

“We were excited that Mr. Miyamoto made the commitment that Pikmin is coming. It would have been nice if we could have said that on stage. But, we think it was a good recognition for us that we care for our core fans, and not just the new people who are now discovering Nintendo.”

Ridiculous....

Interesting comments.

Personally, I think this was a reality check for Nintendo in that its been a whole year since they've appeared at a show like E3 and have possibly forgotten who the show is for?!

They've gone to E3 with the same type of set up they would implement on some free floor space in Lakeside shopping centre. It works for mums and dads but not at E3.

I think the only reason she's even saying this is because of the negative feedback from the industry on how little Nintendo had to announce and even more so, how little of that was for gamers. I doubt very much that anyone at Nintendo is genuinely 'disappointed'.

Nintendo forgot about the people who have kept them in business all these years a long time ago. Saying you're ' disappointed with your performance' isnt good enough for me.

I think Nintendo owe the gamers a lot more than that.

Spot on pantythief.
The only games I looked forward to were mario kart and smash bros specially because you can play them with gamecube pad.
Its a shame the online sucks for smash bros where you cant even invite someone to your game.

Well the people crying now would have been crying no matter what you showed. Na dof course everyone of those fanboys is going to try to justify their hate by saying they have always been loyal to Nintendo.. they;ve always been loyal but they never took the time to see what Nintendo stood for. they havent changed at all. they've put out more harcore games quicker on Wii then on the N64 and GC, but the haters wont ever see that because they never really backed Nintendo to begin with. I mean listen to some of these posts.. They do not understand that VC was covered at E3. They do not know that GTA was shown at E3 along with CoD. All they seem to be able to see are the bad things. never the good. Just ignore those people. I didnt like E3 either but I am not such a blind follower that I will act like nothing at all was shown for me when it was.
