Publisher secures key new publishing, marketing, commercial and financial personnel
Codemasters has unveiled its new management team tasked with leading the firm into its fourth consecutive year of growth.
Headlining the new appointments is senior vice president of publishing Axel Herr. Herr is the former managing director of THQ, Nintendo of Europe, and most recently, CEO of Bally Wulff Entertainment, and will be responsible for the company’s publishing business in Europe, Middle East, Africa and distributor territories.
Codemasters has also hired ex-EA European studios marketing director Alex Bertie as vice president of brand and marketing. Paul Martin joined the publisher as vice president of finance, having previously worked at Sony BMG as UK finance director. Finally, Matt Jeffery has been appointed director of digital technologies following a stint as platform development manager at Sony Computer Entertainment.
“Codemasters is coming off the back of three consecutive years of double digit revenue growth and sustained profitability. It is a high octane company with great energy and we are attracting people who make things happen,” said CEO Rod Cousens.
“Axel, Alex, Paul and Matt have already made their mark in their respective fields. They are driven, have a hunger to succeed and a high work ethic. At Codemasters, they are a good fit and can be the incoming tide that takes the company forward. By targeting revenue uplift in excess of 50 per cent in the current fiscal year, Codemasters is poised for its greatest surge yet.”
