PS3 Wireless Headset hits Japan in October

No official UK release date yet for Sony’s next-gen peripheral

Sony has revealed its new Wireless Headset for the PS3 will launch October 30th in Japan, but has yet to confirm when the headset will reach UK shores.

Priced at 5,000 Yen, the Wireless Headset will be compatible with PS3 titles like Resistance 2, SOCOM: Confrontation, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift and other games that support online chat. SOCOM: Confrontation will be available in a bundle with the new peripheral when it’s released in Japan, also on October 30th.

The Wireless Headset automatically links to the PS3 via Bluetooth, but also comes supplied with a USB for wired use. Featuring a noise cancelling feature and ear hook type headset, the new PS3 peripheral will allow a maximum of eight hours of voice chat when fully charged.

PS3 users will need to download the latest system software update to use the new peripheral.

Surely it's a current generation peripheral? Unless I travelled back in time by a few years last night. In which case I bring sad news from the future, which is that Home still won't be out by the year 2008.

But I want to know is the quality better than current headsets on the system? As the current quality is absolutely attrotious.

It's so indistinguishable that my friends and I often open up an empty room on Call of Duty 4, ON THE XBOX 360!! and use that to chat whilst playing online on the PS3.
