Ghostbusters and 50 Cent could face the chop as Activision Blizzard 'considers its options' on Vivendi titles
Ghostbusters and 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand could be sold off as Activision Blizzard assumes Vivendi’s release slate, the new publishing powerhouse has told MCV.
While Crash, Spyro and Prototype have been confirmed for release by the new giant, the rest of Vivendi's release schedule hangs in the balance.
“Crash, Spyro and Prototype will definitely be released this and next year," said UK MD Andrew Brown. "There are still decisions ahead but we’re retaining franchises that fit with our long-term strategy.”
When asked about Ghostbusters and 50 Cent, he added: “The company is reviewing its options regarding titles that it will not be publishing.”

Er...
Wasn't this announced a month and a half ago? The 'Who will publish Ghostbusters/Brutal Legend/generic Vivendi ****?' story has been all over the place for ages.
Re: Er...
I'm just glad Prototype will be released, been looking forward to that one for ages, that's hung in the balance before now.
Re: Re: Er...
I would say the dustbin would be an excellent place to put the new 50 Cent game.
Come on, its a sequel to a ****ing game noone wants!!!
File Under W.T.F.
Ok I was at my local Gamestop over the weekend they had to refund over 140 preorders for the Ghostbusters game I asked how many Spryo & Crash pre-orders there were drum roll please.....Not a one. Activision/Blizzard you S-T-U-P-I-D!
Re: File Under W.T.F.
Do they know a new Ghostbusters film has been announced? maybe this version of the game will be canned, but there will no doubt be some gaming tie-in with the new film. Probably still a couple of years away though.

Re: Re: File Under W.T.F.
I fully understand where you are coming from Brian, as far as most gamers are concerned, Ghostbusters will be the superior game. Sadly though, Licsencing, the fact that it will be more complicated to make and other factors will mean that in the end a lot less profit would actually be made from Crash and Spyro.
Very few people pre-order these types of games, as they are usually marketed towards the younger generation who often don't find out about a game until it has hit the shelves or just before. They still sell fairly reasonably, and will likely turn as good or a better profit, due to it being simpler to make.
I'm not saying I'm happy with the decision to axe GB and not Crash and Spyro, I can just see why they have done it.
