Free London fuel giveaway hits the nation’s travel news as Mercenaries 2 arrives at retail

Today’s release of Pandemic’s Mercenaries 2: World in Flames has received a bit of high-level exposure today thanks to a free petrol giveaway in London.

EA’s promotion saw £20,000 of free petrol being given out to punters – with each receiving a maximum of £40 worth of fuel. The excitement saw stations such as the BBC covering the events as part of its morning travel roundup.

The event saw the forecourt of the Last Stop petrol station in Finsbury Park inundated with motorists, and several security guards have been posted to deal with the grumpy commuters once the petrol eventually runs dry.

Fantastic, what a fantastic piece of PR, hats off to all concerned, and for the coverage that it has got today so far, relatively cheap.

Great idea....why in one place? isn't that unfair to people who don't live in London? How many londoners use their care that much?
