400 Microsoft points to transfer all but four of the first game’s songs to the sequel’s playlist
Those looking forward to Rock Band 2 have been told that they will be able to transfer tracks from the first game for use with the sequel – albeit for a price.
Xbox 360 owners will be charged 400 Microsoft points (around £3.50) to move 55 of Rock Band’s 59-track playlist for use with the second game. Licensing restrictions mean that Metallica’s Enter Sandman, Tokio Hotel’s Through the Monsoon, Black Sabbath’s Paranoid and Iron maiden’s Run to the Hills will not be transferable.
Developers Harmonix adds that any tracks downloaded for the first game should be compatible with the second.
Rock Band 2 is due out in the US this month, though no European release date has yet been confirmed – indeed, the PS3 version of the first game is still yet to arrive on European shores.

not a bad price
I have known about this feature for a while, it's good, and personally I was expecting it to cost a fair bit more.
also it's pretty good that there are only 4 songs missing off the list, I had imagined it would be more. Surprised to see that Aerosmith are transferable.
Re: not a bad price
Yes, it's not bad price and yes, 4 songs is not alot, but I'd say 2 of them are the best on the game, Enter sandman & Paranoid. Shame, but nevermind.
Re: Re: not a bad price
Is it really EA who are charging for this? They are just the distributor after all. Perhaps MTV Games don't want the money and are happy to give it to their delivery boys as a tip.
Re: Re: Re: not a bad price
It is still kind of crappy that they charge you for something you have already paid for once. and if I pay that price I should be able to deffinitely transfer all of the purchased music from x-box live, after all I have purchased over 70 songs from them.
Cool ?!?
Hey guys, do you really think it's cool to pay 2 times for the same thing ? :-/
Re: Re: Re: Re: not a bad price
yes you still have to pay to transfer the songs, but afterwards you can just sell the disc for probably more than that, so in the end you're just making a little bit of money
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: not a bad price
yeah but how are you gonna do the transfer and can you do at the launch?
