Max Payne producer Scott Faye working with 3D Realms on big-screen adaptation of classic FPS
Scott Faye, the producer of the soon-to-be-released Hollywood version of Take 2’s slow-mo shooter Max Payne, has revealed that he’s currently working with 3D Realms on a cinema outing for no-nonsense action hero Duke Nukem.
Kotaku quotes Faye as stating: “I'm working diligently at making a Duke Nukem movie scenario that will live up to the character and its import in the video game world. As is the case with all of my game adaptations, I'd rather not make the movie than make a poor adaptation.
“With the two new games coming out based on Duke Nukem, I'm working at establishing a Duke film scenario that will compel a studio to finance a feature version. Certainly, there's a large audience that knows and loves this character.
“We're expanding Duke's ‘storyverse’ in a very significant major way without abandoning or negating any element that's being used to introduce Duke to the next-gen platforms.”
The long-awaited home console outing for the Duke, dubbed Duke Nukem Forever, has been in development since around about 1873 and is due for release some time soon – possibly next year, or possibly the Friday before the end of the universe. It would certainly take a brave man to bet on the game arriving before the film.

So how long
Will the film take 10 years to make also? And will they change directors 3 times throughout?
