Alterations made to upcoming RPG to appease Australian censors have been incorporated in international versions
Fallout 3 publisher Bethesda has confirmed that the cuts made to its upcoming post-apocalyptic RPG in order to gain the approval of Australian censors have been incorporated into the international version of the title.
The Aussie authorities took exception to references to morphine contained in the game, the result of which being that the substance has instead been given a fictional name.
Speaking to Edge Online, the firm’s VP of PR and marketing Peter Hines stated: “We want to make sure folks understand that the Australian version of Fallout 3 is identical to both the UK and North American versions in every way, on every platform.
“An issue was raised concerning references to real world, proscribed drugs in the game, and we subsequently removed those references and replaced them with fictional names. To avoid confusion among people in different territories, we decided to make those substitutions in all versions of the game, in all territories.
“I didn't want people continuing to assume the version in Australia was some altered version when it's not.”

Re: "Wonderful"
if my memory serves me then this isn't really a big deal. I'm sure that the main drug in Fallout wasn't anything from the real world...
Re: Re: "Wonderful"
Yup, it was Jet. At first it was only a by-product of a botched experiment to manufacture cheap protein extract growing food with strong hallucinogenic properties, until Myron began to manufacture it on large scale with several modifications
