WipEout HD confirmed for September 25th

Graphically lush future racer confirmed for arrival on UK PSN next week, carrying a £11.99 price point

With the US arrival of September 25th confirmed only this morning, it hasn’t taken Sony Europe long to state that Sony’s PS3 racer WipEout HD will also arrive on Europe’s PlayStation Network next Thursday.

The game is an amalgamation of craft and tracks featured in the many previous WipEout games. However, its ‘proper’ HD 1080p visuals and solid 60fps visuals have left many members of the consumer press amazed.

As well as optional Sixaxis movement controls, the title will also offer competitive online racing for the first time a home version of the game.

The original WipEout, alongside brands such as Tekken and Tomb Raider, enjoys the prestige of being one of the key franchises that established the domination of the PlayStation throughout the late ‘90s and early 21st century.

PS3 owners will be able to download WipEout HD for £11.99 directly from Sony’s PSN.

You know #2 that ain't a bad idea - bundle those three together for us old schoolers... and maybe a combination of The Last Guy, PixelJunk and a couple of the others - as lets face it not everyone has access to the PSN.

As for Amiga Forever - yes please! But whilst we are on the subject - now AmigaOS 4.1 is out... can we have that too? lol :)http://www.acube-systems.biz/common/advert41_eng.pdf

Well its a huge relief we dont have to wait till year-end for this, roll on next week.

To continue about putting these on BD, absolutely, if Microsoft can do it, then why can't Sony. Some of us want the physical media not just the download service alone.

To think how many GT5Ps were sold in BD, outside of the online downloads... There, so put it on BD.

Given the choice, I'd also buy this on Blu-ray in preference to downloading it, but at that price, I think it'll be a launch day purchase for me regardless.
