Activision adds that Aerosmith has made more money from GH tie-in than any of its albums

Publisher Activision Blizzard has vowed to triple the number of Guitar Hero games on the market by 2010, the firm said at its investors gathering yesterday according to Shacknews.

Moreso, the number of titles on the market will be doubled by next year.

The UK Charts are currently littered with Guitar Hero titles, with ongoing success continuing for the likes of Guitar Hero III, DS outing Guitar Hero: On Tour and the licensed Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.

Speaking of which, MTV reports that rockers Aerosmith has made more cash from its recently released GH tie-in than it has ever made from a single album. Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said: “Guitar Hero: Aerosmith has generated more money for the band than any of their albums.

“Their version of Guitar Hero generated far more in revenues than any Aerosmith album ever has. Merchandising, concert sales, their ability to sign a new contract have all been unbelievably influenced by their participation in Guitar Hero.”
