Google refuses to rule out Valve takeover

Lack of firm denial from search engine company adds fuel to rumour’s fire

Google has refused to rule out the possibility that it is to acquire Half Life developer Valve.

When questioned by MCV by the roaring rumour that it is to announce the buyout of the Steam parent company this week at Austin GDC, A Google spokesperson told us:

“We do not comment on rumour and speculation.”

The Inquirer reports that ‘very strong sources’ have informed it that the news is imminent.

Cos of course they don't say “We do not comment on rumour and speculation.” on everything that isn't an official topic do they...

I asked someone at EA yesterday. They had no comment. Hence, I suspect they will definitely buy Valve now instead of Google.
