100k vote in mock-Xbox election

North American Xbox 360 owners vote in Barack Obama as political convention videos enjoy plentiful downloads

Microsoft has announced that its recent trial that saw Xbox 360 users participate in a mock election via Xbox Live saw nearly 100,000 gamers participate – with Democratic candidate Barack Obama winning a landslide victory.

The experiment, which has been running since August 25th, allowed gamers to vote via their controller. Obama won 43 per cent of the vote, with Republican rival John McCain capturing 31 per cent.

Microsoft points out that the sample included in its trial is bigger than that seen in many recent polls combined – including the likes of NBC and CNN.

As well as participating in the poll, video coverage of the recent Democratic and republican conventions were downloaded by almost 25,000 users.

McCain apparently does not know how to email or use a computer.

That's interesting because the 43,000 people that voted for Obama in this mock election are often stereotyped by Republicans as stoners and slackers that never vote.

I think that's how Fox conservative pundit Bill O'Reilly described Jon Stewart's Daily Show viewers.

Prove them wrong by actually registering to vote and then going out to vote.

There needs to be a Slacker Uprising!
