JAPAN: 360 trumps PS3 yet again

The Xbox 360’s Japanese resurgence is seemingly far from over with news that the machine has outsold Sony’s PS3 for

the second week running

in Japan – though both consoles are still lagging far behind the handheld market.

Edge Online reports that 360 shifted 13,777 units in the week ending September 21st, a fair chunk ahead of PS3’s 8,156 sales, though Sony’s machine has significantly closed the gap it suffered in the previous week’s listings.

The DS Lite was the overall winner, however, shifting 61,242 machines, far ahead of fellow Nintendo console Wii, which enjoyed sales of 29,921. The PSP sold 28,674 units in the period and the PS2 7,720.
