Also what is all the fuss about this game that is a bunch of cloth based characters in an open environment looks pretty boring and mediocre.

Diff people have different tastes, funky art style but it doesnt interest me all that much.
On the other hand there will be those that love it and some people like my friend who upon seeing just the start of the advert at my house shouted to to get it off tv immediately.

Upon listening to the community, its seems some suspect that there are some rather nasty sentences from the Quran in one of the tracks of LittleBigPlanet. This could be the reason for the delay?

Zavvi have since sent a e-mail saying the change of release date was a mistake and it's still coming out on October 24th.

With the other sites now follow suit too?

Or it could be they can't meet demand - yesterday the hut was saying sold out

Apparently two parts of the Quran can be heard:
"kollo nafsin tha'iqatol mawt"; 'Every soul shall have the taste of death', and "kollo man alaiha fan"; 'All that is on earth will perish'.
Sony don't want to become 'perished' now, do they - or otherwise condone the destruction of all? :-S

Strategically speaking, wouldn't a November 14th date be better? That way an advertising campaign built around the hype-inducing xmas build-up would help sell more hardware surely?

Props to Sony though. Not my cup of tea, but i can see why some people would go absolutely ape over this. Lets hope they can keep the momentum going now.

Nov the 14th is probably not a date that they wanted to release as this is one day after the release of wrath of the lich king which will probably get a lot more coverage that week than most other games

I am concerned that they would have a Quran or take anything from it to be used in a video game especially such quotes which is NOT condoning death to all!

I'm so angry. Sony, ship the game regardless of what those religious nuts think, this game was going to be so awesome and now they have tarnished it. I'm in no way anti-Islam, but all religions should be seen and not heard.

Sony's official statement:

During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an. We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused.

We will confirm the new launch date shortly.

Sorry for saying that, but how stupid is it to use religious texts like that in a game? They should have known that it could cause such problems... I simply don't understand... maybe a part of a bigger marketing campain?

WTF, an error was made, release the game, and have a mandatory update that will remove the song from being able to be played, and replace it with something less offensive. We're in the digital age, fix it after release.

It's pathetic that people are offended and that it's been delayed because of it. I don't know any game that has been delayed due to religious beliefs, etc. I just don't get it. An example of Assassin's Creed, having lots of religious CRAP in it and still not having any removed. Odd. I just don't get people.
