Media Molecule confirms development of sequel – as well as cartoon plans
LittleBigPlanet isn’t even in stores yet – and yet developer Media Molecule has already announced plans for a sequel.
Speaking to the BBC on being a British success story, the firm also revealed that it is in negotiations with Sony to expand the franchise to have its own cartoon and comic book.
Media Molecule technical director Alex Evans also said soon after releasing the LBP beta it was stumbling across the first user-created levels that were better than the ones designed by the professionals.
"There's been a lot of being in the right place at the right time. When we went to Sony we were a tiny but very experienced team,” he said. “Sony had to trust in us in terms of the quality of people.
"It was amazing how much they understood what was a new concept; it was quite blue sky."
