Xbox to takeover Leicester Square

Live Your Moment event to promote Lips and You're In The Movies as part of UK tour

Microsoft is set to take over the whole of Leicester Square this weekend, as it embarks on a major consumer promotional campaign.

The Leicester Square event – which forms part of the platform holder's wider Xbox Trial tour – will be a film-themed consumer experience and puts the spotlight on its two largest casual titles Lips and You're In The Movies.

The event, which runs from October 31st to November 2nd, ties in with this year's London Games Festival and London Film Festival. The firm will also be showing off other major Christmas hopes, including Scene It? Box Office Smash, Quantum of Solace and Lego Batman.

The Xbox Trial tour is also set to visit Glasgow (November 8th – 9th), Newcastle (November 15th – 16th), Sheffield (November 22nd – 23rd) and Bristol (November 29th – 30th), and will see the Xbox street team take over local shopping centres, cinemas, city centres and student unions to promote the titles.

how about.....all platforms are trying to broaden the gamer audience and reach out to consumers who wouldn't normally consider gaming previously, until they can see what fun they can be.....and how about, why is that such a problem???

missed the boat??? - what boat are you on?......yes Scene It failed but Rock Band stormed the charts as will LIPs (it blasts Singstar out of the water!!)......so what if they are a little bit late getting in on the 'broader game' action - they still have some fantastic products about to be released and tons on the horizon..........Nintendo is a great console but it doesn't have the depth of the Xbox 360 and just wait until you see the new Xbox experience coming very soon.....

boom. Couldn't have put it better myself. Don't really understand what people's issues are with marketing strategies at the end of the day. It's not like anyone's taking your civil rights away or anything for crying out loud. All they're doing is reaching out to other audiences. Plus, what the hell has Vista got to do with Xbox marketing. 2 separate entities that are and should be kept totally separate....but then, you probably don't work in any marketing capacity at all and are just venting, so forgiven for your post....ahh and your name is bitter....sums it up really! Have fun with the new look Xbox experience and don't take things so seriously yeah? :)

to be honest its an excuse for a big fun day, if it doesnt interest you then theres a simple solution... dont go.
however im sure they will have plenty of give aways and freebies which will make the whole experience fun.
i do agree that it has taken them some time to bring out a mic based game (bar rockband) and a good camera orrientated game which the ps2 had going for it a while back, but if they come and out are good then it will be worth it in the long run,
looking forward to the new xbox experience as that should shake things up a bit!

thanks
