Fallout 3 shifts 4.7m in week one

Astounding shipping figures for Bethesda’s post-nuclear next-gen RPG; sales exceed $300m

Publisher and developer Bethesda has revealed that its critical and commercial smash Fallout 3 shipped a quite incredible 4.7 million copies across the world in its first week of sale on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Its success has already generated retail sales of over $300 million.

The game, which is built using an enhanced version of the engine that powered successful RPG outing Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, sees players facing up to a post-apocalyptic future. In typical Bethesda fashion, gamers are free to pursue the game as they see fit, with their in-game choices having a significant impact on how the narrative pans out.

Game of the year by far. Nothing even comes close for in depth storyline and character customisation and don't get me started on the open ended world.
Bethesda have done it yet again

Great game although a tad more bug ridden than Fable 2, hope Bethesda re-invest some of the cash they will make from the predicted DLC and clean them up. Im getting a bit tired of my post apocalyptic hero, who has no probs handling super-mutants, and radioactive zombies, but often gets stuck behind two lumps of knee-high concrete on the 360 lol.
