Magazine publisher Imagine is about to launch its new gaming ‘supersite’, NowGamer.com.

The site is to use Imagine’s back catalogue of content, from magazines including GamesTM, X360, 360, PowerStation, Total PC Gaming, Play and Retro Gamer. And the firm believes the website will be a ‘true alternative’ to the current crop of video game websites.

“NowGamer.com will be a fresh new approach to gaming websites and will deliver a significant step forward in terms of functionality, community and content,” said Imagine Publishing MD Damian Butt. “Imagine is all about innovation and I am confident that NowGamer.com will surprise and delight the gaming industry and hopefully provide a cutting edge online alternative for our readers and clients.”

Imagine has yet to confirm what unique features gamers can expect from the portal, but is targeting the site as 24-35 year old males. Imagine is also set to launch a series of other sites during 2009, which will be developed by Evolving Media.
