Home 1.0, the version which will eventually launch to the public, is rumoured to be arriving with closed beta testers tomorrow
A leaked memo has reportedly revealed that Home 1.0, the version of Sony’s hyped social networking software that will eventually be released to the public, will become available to closed beta testers tomorrow.
CVG reports the memo as reading: “1.0 will arrive in the closed beta this Thursday November 20th and will entail a downtime starting in the morning. On Friday we will send out our first batch of invitations to new testers to help load-test 1.0 and the new servers that are coming online in the next week or so.
“We have two further batches of invitations scheduled for the following week and overall we'll be inviting a huge number of people into the closed beta in SCEE territories.”
The bad news, however, is that the official line on when PS3 Home will actually be released remains “it will be here when it’s here”, though Sony has repeatedly asserted that Home will launch before the end of the year. Though we have heard that before.

about time
i own a ps3 and even though this wont make a difference to my game play, same with xboxs new dash, i couldnt care less about silly little avatars or sims, but i do think its about time sony deliver what was promised so long ago,
same with their games, delays on multi platform games is crazy, sony need to do what they once we best at, ive not seen any advertising for ps3, LBP or anything, xbox and Nintendo are all over the TV, its as if Sony have given up.
I hope they didnt forget it xmas in a month or so
Re: about time
Heard it all before. I'm no longer intrested really. It's a shame it's taken so long because it will now definitley turn into a big anti climax. Nevermind, I suppose the awsome ps3 exclusives make up for it and at the end of the day it's the games that count!
Re: Re: about time
ditto that, when its out it's out, doesn't bother me anymore as there are loads of games waitiing to be played, christmas has indeed come early! :)
thats the problem
i agree somethings get so over hyped and then just seem un-important once they are out, its like haze the concept seemed very interesting, but once out the game lacked balance and online just didnt cut it, i must be quite bad after large amounts of money being spent on development etc and then it doesnt pay off, with home and mxb i dont see either as having an advantage or even a reason to buy a certain console, its just an added extra,
what is needed
what sony need to do is simple, price cut, Final fantasy 7 remake, just graphics, this would explode, more RGP in general, no more delays or ports from other consoles, multiplaform games should be virtually the same, backwards compatibility is also an issue, why not offer all ps2 games as £1.70 downloads, i would buy metal gear 1, tomb raider 1, res evil 1 etc etc,
home is a good idea but not something that sells consoles,
Re: what is needed
Unfortunately though Henry, Its not that simple. It may seem simple, But sony cannot do all those things right now, certainly not a price cut anyway.. how long are people going to have to wait?
