Jon Fitch reportedly kicked from the Ultimate Fighting Championship for refusing to sign lifelong THQ licensing deal
American kickboxing specialist Jon Fitch has reportedly been kicked off the Ultimate Fighting Championship after refusing to sign over his likeness to THQ for life, Gamespot reports.
THQ currently owns the UFC video game rights, and part of its deal requires fighters to sign over the rights to their digital likeness for life. Fitch, however, was not willing to sign the deal unless the timeline was shortened. The UFC subsequently booted him from their tour.
“I'm more than willing to work with them, but I don't see why we have to give up our whole lives for this,” Fitch stated. “Why not a time limit? If we did a ten year deal with them, is that that unreasonable? I don't understand how this happened, honestly. It's tough.”

Unclear
I'm sorry - Did he get dropped as a fighter on the UFC tour, or have THQ dropped him from the game?
Re: Unclear
According to wikipedia:
In the end, Fitch ended up signing a licensing agreement that will allow the UFC to feature him in their upcoming video game release and returned to the UFC.Fitch's exile from the UFC lasted less than 24 hours.
Does seem a bit much for THQ to expect the fighters to sign a lifetime agreement. What is the length of the deal between UFC & THQ?
Re: Re: Unclear
Well, if publishers can treat independent developers the way they do and get away with it, why not other "partners"
Re: Re: Re: Unclear
So if 5-10 years down the line this guy was to become a big action star and wanted to do his own game he is screwed - or more than likely has to pay THQ mad money to use his own likeness.

As Rampage Jackson retires, hopefully his acting career works out and he doesn't have to find people with money to lend. Pls. click this http://personalmoneystore.com/Personal-Loans/money-Loans/money-To-Lend/ for queries.
