EA Sports boss Peter Moore admits that Wii’s inclusion of Wii Sports presents a problem for his firm’s sports strategy
Peter Moore, the outspoken boss of EA Sports, has admitted that the publisher has had trouble establishing its annual sports franchises on Nintendo’s Wii – a challenge it pins on the massively popular Wii Sports.
EA’s most recent Madden title sold over two million units on Xbox 360, PS3 and PS2 combined in North America last August, whilst only 100,000 units were sold on Wii.

o rly?
Is this not really more to do with the fact that the traditional demographic that EA have pitched their annual updates to are not necessarily the audience that have bought into Wii's philosophy?
Of the four sports in the diagram above Wii sports only offers Golf. Hockey, Football and Basketball are not part of Wii sports.
Re: o rly?
Totally agree with #1
The Wii customer base is totally different to anything our industry has seen and it is naive of Peter to pin poor sales of their live series on the success of Wii sports.
Re: Re: o rly?
If EA wouldnt dumb down the gameplay on the Wii versions then maybe their games would sell better.
EA's at fault here, not Nintendo.
How about devs coming up with something that beats Nintendo's own franchises instead of whining when their game doesnt sell.
Re: Re: o rly?
it's the fault of the wii for not producing a suitably sedated demographic from which EA can annually pillage from.
please wake up wii makers!! we demand more status quo! feed us our kibble!
