Don't do it! Nintendo have had that iconic red logo for at least 13 years. Lets not forget what colour mario's hat is. This is as stupid as pizza sorry, pasta hut's recent temporary change!

New Direction/New Design

It would make sense to change the design of the logo, as they've changed the company direction.

A recent statement from the Nintendo stated that they haven't forgotten 'core' gamers while continuing to get larger audiences involved in gaming. Fans seem unsatisfied with such a claim and Nintendo seem to detaching themselves further from the 'core' and 'old school' gamers.

Although I am not a graphics designer, 'red' (from what I understand) is a colour meaning desire, love and passion. Where 'silver' (light grey) means modern and sleek.
