Zelda director pledges to the franchise

Eiji Aonuma confirms he will continue to work on the Legend of Zelda series

Legend of Zelda director Eiji Aonuma has pledged his commitment to the popular franchise. Aonuma said that he’ll continue to work on the series until it matches, or surpasses, the quality of Ocarina of Time.

Aonuma said: “I’m happy that a title I worked on some time ago remains highly praised to this day, but that also shows how none of the subsequent games in the series have surpassed it.”

“As someone who is still working on the series, I have mixed feelings about that. Because I haven’t yet surpassed it, I can’t quit. Surprisingly, that simply motivation may be the reason I continue to work on the Zelda series.”

Well, that's good.
Shame he offered no clues regarding what's next in the series, and when we might expect it.

Mr Anouma,

As someone who has played the series since i was 9 (1992) I would urge you to talk to Mr Myamoto. I believe your intentions are of the best kind however there is something lacking.
Please dear god no more silly backtracking. eg, triforce piece windwaker and hourglass.
These games have wained a little as i feel the emphasis on exploration has been removed for linearity. This series is not intended for the brain training generation, although i think they should give it a go.

I hope there will be another release of zelda on the wii, personally the idea of time travel spliting the game into two games intwinned in one works well, world size works well but was somewhat obvious on twilght princess ( great game ) but I find the suprise in the size of the world of hyrule good eg when you first seen hyrule field in ocarina of time and then relising the time difference in this world.

?????? IM A BIG FAN AND WAS WONDERING IF A NEW GAME IS ON THE HORIZON
